"This book picks up right after Book Boyfriend left off. Alex and Mia are planning their wedding. Caleb is still struggling with being a single dad and Kendra has left her job to break out on her own. Not having the financial security of she once did she decides to take on a roommate for a bit. She literally does not see Weston coming.
I have a serious weakness for ***hole heroes so there was little chance of me not loving Weston. What surprised me was I loved Kendra just as much. I'm so easily annoyed by heroines in contemporary romance that I'd legit shocked when they don't push my buttons.
Rom coms are my favorite romance sub genre and I can promise you this one will make you laugh as much or more than Book Boyfriend did. When you aren't laughing you'll be totally swooning over Weston's transformation from complete jerk to perfect complete perfection.
1.) Cheating? Zero, zip, zilch. Even when they hate each other these two only have eyes for each other.
2.) Cliffhanger? Nope.
3.) HEA (Happily Ever After)? Um, honestly - I couldn't have imagined a more epic HEA than what CK gives Kendra and Weston.
4.) Violence? Nope, not that sort of romance.
5.) Writing/Grammar? I love CK's style, it's clean, smooth and witty. If you're a fan of Penny Reid you'll enjoy Claire Kingsley.
6.) Sexual content? MF only. I think I say this in every review I write for a CK book but no one writes vanilla hotter than she does. Maybe it's just to let you know she hasn't lost her magic touch but I'll say it again - HOT. She has the perfect amount of sexual tension and sex scenes to get the point across that these two have serious chemistry without becoming repetitive and boring.
7.) Would I recommend this book to my friends? Yes! All of you! Buy it now!

9.) Premise/Trope Roommates/Hate to Lovers - Enemies to lovers are one of my favorites, especially when the hero is a complete jerk! Cocky Roommate is everything I ever wanted!! Claire Kingsley wrote the hell outta this book!
Kendra needed a roommate and her brother Caleb had the perfect one for her. His collegue, Weston, who needed a place to stay while he had work done on his house. Little did Weston know that crashing at Kendra’s place would change his life forever.
Weston is hot, sexy, smart mouthed, infuriating man who wants nothing to do with love or a relationship. A different woman every night and could care less, is his way of living life. He could care less about anyone or anything but himself.
Kendra is a freelance writer who quit her job to go out on her own. She’ll do anything for anyone at anytime without question because that’s just the way she is. So rooming with a guy who looks like a god but acts like an jerk is troublesome but Kendra’s determined to not let it get to her. She knows that there has to be some underlying issues for him to act that way...and boy are there!
I adore the banter between Kendra and Weston, they both could give and take! I’ve got to tell you, I LOVE that he was such a jerk and that Kendra was frustrated with him but never let it show. And when they finally got their sexy on, WHOA. I had to put down the and collect myself for a moment. That sexual tension was everything!
I absolutely fell head over heels for Claire’s work when I read Book Boyfriend and I really loved Alex. But Weston? Weston tops EVERY book boyfriend known to women! - I was totally wondering how CK was going to turn around and redeem Weston. If it were any other author I would have checked out pretty early. But...I love this author and I had complete faith she would help us fall in love with Weston.
Weston is a friend of Kendra's brother. He's a plastic surgeon remodeling his house and needs a place to stay that isn't a hotel. Kendra is in desperate need of a roomie since she just made the transition to freelance book editor. To say they don't exactly gel would be an understatement. Weston is a straight up arrogant jerk and the things that come out of his mouth made me want to throat punch him.
Luckily Kendra is patient, caring, and strong so she takes it in stride and just tries to live amicably with her brother's friend.
I loved the romance novel references and so happy we got more Mia and Alex.
This writer is amazing! She writes fun, super sexy, witty, love stories.
Now...bring on Caleb! Because who can resist a hot single father/doctor? - I didn't think the first book in this series, Book Boyfriend about Alex and Mia, could be topped, but Weston and Kendra's story certainly did just that for me. We got to know Kendra as Alex's younger sister and editor in the first book and I instantly loved her as the sweet, supportive and family-oriented sister. But what really elevated this story for me was the way that CK was able to make Weston's character so likable to the reader despite the fact that she wrote him in such a way that his cockiness and manwhore-ish ways made him completely unlikable for the first half of the book. However, in true CK fashion, she did an excellent job at developing and evolving his character throughout the story, thus helping to make us love him more by the end. There were times that he made me laugh and cry and I was definitely rooting for him and Kendra to be together by the end of the story.

Cocky, arrogant, and an all around jerk. That's Weston!
Kendra is caring, kind, loving, and an independent woman. She loves her family and does whatever she to help them we they need her. Striking out on her own as a freelance editor, she needed a roommate. In comes Weston via her brother Caleb, who tells her a colleague of his needs a place to stay for a couple of months. This colleague is Weston.
At first, you want to smack the jerk for the way he treats Kendra. Then after his car accident and Kendra's kindness, Weston turns out not to be so bad after all. Until after a bad day for Weston and a heated argument between Kendra and Weston, you want to smack him again!
Will things work out between them? You need to read this extremely well written book to find out!
