2014 Motor Carriers' Road Atlas MCRA Rand Mcnally Motor Carriers' Road Atlas Rand McNally 9780528009181 Books Reviews
- This is our second edition which updates the previous '08 version we had. We find it helpful in checking out routes to the various destinations in our travels. Since we drive a 40' motor home with a towed vehicle, we are concerned with a lot of the same things that our professional truck driving friends contend with. Height restrictions, bridge weight and width restrictions, are among the things that I can check out with this Atlas. And the individual state maps are detailed and easy to read. And they show the truck routes which I use as a good guide about where and how to go. In general, if the route will handle trucks, it will be okay for us. Although there are a lot on good on-line sources of information, it is still handy to have a good old fashioned paper map to refer too from time to time. This Atlas certainly fills the bill.
- The 2014 truck drivers' road atlas was bigger than I thought, which is a plus.
Some of it is hard to read and it's not easy adding up mileages between cities. It's hard to cram this much information onto one page even at this large format, but it is still valuable.
Some reviewers don't like the big orange highlight over the marked routes, but I can see through it ok; makes it necessary to have a good light source handy.
I also appreciate the updated information for 2014. This alone is well worth the price.
I also like all the added info for Canada and Mexico, for example, and other added features.
May have to order another one for a friend. - Has all the information I was looking for to travel with a fifth-wheel trailer. Especiallyinterestedinlow overpass clearances in every state.
- Everything you need to know on the roads.
City to city mileage, low clearance, rest stops, and every other bit of information you could need on the road.
Anyone who gives this less than 5 stars is incapable of reading a map. Rand Mcnally produces the best atlases on the market. Period.
The only downsides are that it is not laminated and not spiral bound. - I consult this first before any trip and it has never steered me wrong. I would recommend this to anyone with a big-rig RV.
- Seems to be accurate. It also corresponds with my Rand McNally gps. I still don't trust relying solely on gps. Which tried to send me, and has sent me through areas that could have been easily avoided.
- Great atlas, except that it's not made for the use a trucker puts it through. The pages should be more durable.
- Excellent resource for RV travel. Easy to read maps. Major highways easy to follow. Has list of low bridges that was helpful.
