Davis, Mark Jacobson, Darius James, Barry Hannah, Jim Harrison, Denis Johnson.

"This is the first book of Scarlet West I've read so I had no preconceived ideas on her writing style or what to expect. Well, let me say, this was a pleasant surprise to say the least. "Playing Favorites" is a reverse harem romance that will steam up the pages of your kindle from the get go. Kelsey has moved back to her hometown to live with her dad. On one of her nights out, she meets four very delicious brothers. Now the fun starts! She can't choose. Of course there has to be angst in a good book like this and there is. Tensions rise, old hurts and feuds resurface, and new rivalries ensue. Do I have your interest piqued yet? It should be, because this is well worth the time to read. A thoroughly enjoyable, sexy read that will get your day off to quite a start. I received an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review."

  • Well done story with a surprising twist. Nice character development. Great family ties, Looking to read more by this author.
  • Dialogue was confusing and not much of a storyline. It seemed hastily written . I didn't like it very much.
  • This was a skim for the last 2 chapters for me and it didn’t appear to get any better. This book had all sorts of issues.
First of all, voice. This book supposedly takes place in Denver, Colorado. This author does not speak American English and I don’t think it was British English either, as that is at least somewhat familiar to me. There were a lot of words that I could not figure out what they were, even by trying to read what was around the words. When this happens as often as it does in this book, it interrupts the flow of the book.
Next is the point of view of the book the book abruptly changed who’s view you are reading through, even in the middle of the chapter. Add in that one minute, the author is describing everything from the taste of the water to the color paint on the wall and the next minute, you can tell you’ve changed locations, but you don’t know where you are or how you got there and how long has passed.
And if this weren’t all bad enough (which trust me, it is), the grammar is poor. There are random words capitalized in the middle of sentences and all other kinds of craziness.
I was really excited about this book, because it sounded interesting. Now I just hope someone else writes it well. Sadly, this author did not.
  • "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book."

This was a hard book for me to follow.
It just seemed all over the place.

The last two chapters were the best for me.
If the story would have followed that, it would have been better.
The reverse harem theme just didn't flow for me, especially in the end when she ends up with her one true love.

Kelsey, has moved back home to live with her dad after finishing college.
She's gotten an excellent job with a reputable firm.
She bumps into four brother's, who one by one she sleeps with, but had no connection to the first three.
She's not looking for romance just fun and entertains the idea of going through them like she did the college football team.
Grayson, doesn't want to share her and decides if he can't have her to himself and if she is in love with one of them he will just walk away.
Kelsey, had a connection to Grayson, even though they have spent little time together.
    In
the end it is a happy ever after and everyone gets what they want.
  • This one unusual take on four brothers, Donnell, Heath, Clarke and Grayson who are attracted to the same woman, Kelsey. When Kelsey moves back home and has a new job she is able to keep an eye on her aging father and while out one night she meets not one sexy man but four brothers. Kelsey has an immediate attraction to them all and ends up spending alone time with each man but Grayson and she can not first understand why. They all are good sharing and once things come to a head that Grayson feels left out does Heath arrange to put Grayson in a position where he can spend time with Kelsey. The four brother’s have shared their deceased fathers business and their upbringing left some feeling different about the others. As adults those feelings come out and Grayson makes a decision to leave the family company. Kelsey gets to see what her and Grayson could have together and she takes a chance not sure where it will lead her! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

  • This is the first book that I have read from Scarlet and I will read more. Kelsey has moved back home after graduating from college and getting a new job. On her first night home she meet the Bradford brothers Heath, Grayson, Donnell and Clarke. She is attracted to all of them, but had a stronger connection with Heath at first. After that night, she didn’t have the connection she thought she would. She shares a night with each brother to see if she has a connection with any of them. This is a different take on a reverse harem romance. Kelsey spends her dates with them one on one, except one night. Who is the man Kelsey has a strong connection with? Will jealousy and the way the men felt when they were younger get in the way of who Kelsey wants to be with?
  • This was a good book, it took me a little to get into it but it was worth it in the end.
Kelsey is back home after being away for years at college. On her first day out in her home town she meets 4 brothers and she is attracted to all of them. Heath, Grayson, Donnell, and Clark are all attracted to her also but each in a different way. Is there a future here at all or could this bring this family to its knees?
I liked the story line but struggled with the lack of chemistry between some of the encounters, but that did make more sense in the end.
    Standalone with no cliffhangers.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

An exhilarating and intimate account of the life of music legend Tom Petty by an accomplished writer and musician who toured with Petty.

No one other than Warren Zanes, rocker and writer and friend, could author a book about Tom Petty that is as honest and evocative of Petty's music and the remarkable rock and roll history he and his band helped to write.

Born in Gainesville, Florida, with more than a little hillbilly in his blood, Tom Petty was a Southern shit kicker, a kid without a whole lot of promise. Rock and roll made it otherwise. From meeting Elvis to seeing the Beatles on Ed Sullivan to producing Del Shannon; backing Bob Dylan; putting together a band with George Harrison, Dylan, Roy Orbison and Jeff Lynne; making records with Johnny Cash; and sending well more than a dozen of his own celebrated recordings high onto the charts, Tom Petty's story has all the drama of a rock and roll epic.

Now in his mid-60s, still making records and still touring, Petty, known for his reclusive style, has shared with Warren Zanes his insights and arguments, his regrets and lasting ambitions, and the details of his life on and off the stage.

This is an audiobook for those who know and love the songs, from "American Girl" and "Refugee" to "Free Fallin'" and "Mary Jane's Last Dance", and for those who want to see the classic rock and roll era embodied in one man's remarkable story. Dark and mysterious, Petty manages to come back again and again, showing us what the music can do and where it can take us.

BONUS AUDIO In an exclusive Audible interview, author and narrator Warren Zanes discusses the cultural significance behind rock biographies, how great records continue to reveal new things over time, and the enduring and "authentic rock-and-roll cool" that is Tom Petty.

"I've loved Petty's music since the '70's. I've been lucky enough to see him and The Heartbreakers in concert a dozen times. I've always felt that I've known the man through his incredible lyrics but also felt like he was a mystery. Now, through Zanes' incredible biography, I understand that Petty's gift comes from some tough times and his wall is real. I appreciate his drive and determination now almost as much as I appreciate his talent.

Zanes is a fan and some might say that makes him more of a cheerleader than a biographer, but he still presented the warts along with the praise. It's an enjoyable read for a Petty fan such as myself or for anyone who loves rock and roll or wants to know more about the process or how to even be a leader. It's not easy.

I've always secretly hoped that I would someday run in to Petty and have a great conversation, but now that I know more about the man through this biography, I think I would just smile and wave and let him be...he deserves that much for all the joy his music and concerts have given to me."

Petty The Biography Audible Audio Edition Warren Zanes Audible Studios Books Reviews

  • I'll risk sounding like a loser and just admit that I wasn't super into Tom Petty before reading this book. Sure, I know (and enjoy) his big hits like anyone else, but not much beyond that. I basically started this book with a clean slate, more curious than anything else, and really just looking to learn.

Well, after finishing the biography, I can say with all honesty that I am now a legitimate Tom Petty fan. I have enormous respect for the man. I really had no idea he had been through so much. I never knew his father used to beat the sh*t out of him for years--but then turned around and mooched off of his son's success for the rest of his life. It never registered for me how hard Petty worked to get where he is. Truly, his work ethic is admirable. While it seems that his family life suffered for it, I am still a bit in awe that he has remained so focused and determined to succeed after decades in the business. It's respectable. And yet, despite the fact that he has been so successful, he's also surprisingly humble. He says many times that he was never in it for the money. He always dreamed of living comfortably, sure--paying rent on time, etc., etc.--but he never got sidetracked by a huge payday. His heart was always in the music.

That became even more obvious to me when I went back and really listened to his music. While reading the book, I played most of the tracks author Zanes highlighted in the book. And I felt like I heard something new in these songs. I noticed the layers to the lyrics and the creativity in the sounds of American Girl, Listen to Her Heart, Insider, You Don't Know How It Feels, and others. It was just crazy to me how much I got out of these songs after I knew a bit more about the artist.

One last thing...I also want to mention how impressed I was by Petty's oldest daughter, Adria. While reading, I could tell that she had experienced a lot of pain, especially after watching her parents divorce and then having to essentially raise her younger sister. But she seemed very strong to me--and surprisingly insightful. I looked forward to hearing her perspective on her dad. She added something special to this story.

At any rate, I loved this book. I don't even normally like biographies that much--just because they tend to be so dry, ugh--but Zanes managed to write this one with a lot of heart. I finished it and felt legitimately connected to Petty and his music. It was a wonderful read.
  • - WOW -

....is all I've got to say....my man sure did put on a brave face considering the long life of agony he was suffering - I know many of you may find that hard to believe - but just read this book - and there's a lot of parallels with Tom Petty and every Boba musician I have ever met in the last 50 years...including YOURS TRULY...!!

Some of the parts had me baffled and confused thinking I was reading my own biography...!!!!

If you are any kind of Tom Petty fan, or American musician, even if yours was a garage band, and you never made it to the top of the mountain like Tom, you've got to read this book!!!...you will laugh and cry all at the same time...and kudos to Warren Zanes (Del Fuegos - BOSTON BABY!!!!) for layin' it all down so well...even that perspective added so much familiarity to this story for me....I grew up cruisin' the same places and listening to the same radio as Warren..

After reading this, even though I never met the man, I feel like I lived on the same street as Tom Petty....I guess I did.....Main Street, America....this is as American a story as it gets kids....get you some!
  • With Tom Petty suddenly passing, I turned to this biography for a sense of closure.
As a life long fan , I thought I knew most of his history, but found the depth of knowledge in this biography far beyond what I had read before.
It is a very impressive book, and hard to put down.
I really feel a deeper understanding of his music after reading this, and would highly recommend this to anybody interested in musical history and Tom Petty in particular.
  • I've loved Petty's music since the '70's. I've been lucky enough to see him and The Heartbreakers in concert a dozen times. • PETTY THE BIOGRAPHY is a superior example of its kind for two big reasons. One, author Warren Zanes had near-complete access to virtually every major player in the Tom Petty story, going back to Petty's childhood. That's rare in rock bios, which tend to be spotty primarily because key players refuse to be interviewed—or are never approached for interviews. (The only omission here Jane, Petty's first wife.) Two, Zanes — a musician himself, from the late eighties college-rock band Del Fuegos — strikes the right balance between being a Petty fan and being a Petty fanboy. That is to say, his affection and admiration don't get in the way of offering cogent critical analyses of Petty's work relative to Petty's physical and mental state at any given time. Also, the writing is a cut above the usual colorless hack-for-hire fare that marks many rock bios. The takeaway is a sympathetic, empathetic, never blind-eyed portrait of a complicated musical genius with a great many flaws. A thoroughly absorbing, entertaining, easygoing read.

Women Warriors An Unexpected History Audible Audio Edition Pamela D Toler Rosemary Benson Random House Audio Books Reviews

  • I LOVED this book. I found it smart without being intimidating or cumbersome. I learned so much, but it was as if Pamela Toler was sitting across the table from me just entertaining me with stories. I only read a few each evening to make the book last longer and so I could have time to think about the stories, and sometimes I looked up the woman or the war or her tribe or country. Sometimes I read the footnotes to a particular story and sometimes I didn't, depending on how much connection I felt to the woman and her story. It's a rich feast and you don't have to feel that you have to "study" it or read it in a certain way. Just enjoy!
  • I don't usually give a review, but I couldn't let anyone hoping to learn about 'women warrior's to waste their money on this. The writing is so disjointed and fragmented it is difficult to know at times what she is even saying. The footnotes could make another book. The woman she lists are rarely mentioned. Don't bother.
  • This is a wonderful work of history, written to be accessible to a wide range of readers and packed with fascinating people you've probably never heard of but really should know.
  • I admit, when I ordered this book, I was just expecting a collection of easy to read biographies of "women warriors" like Joan of Arc. Something typically written for teenage/young girls to show them "You can do whatever you want to do!"

This is not that book. (And it made me chuckle in the introduction when the author flat out states that most books about women warriors is a selection of biographies written for young girls and this is not that book.)

Happily, it is a much more interesting and in depth book on women's history in war, battles, sieges, etc. through history. It is written as an academic text in a sociological, anthropological, women's studies vein, though it is very accessible to lay people. The book is divided into chapters about different aspects of women in war, women's role in war in relation to their families (either children or parents or husbands), women leading battles, woman manning the ramparts/holding the fort during a siege. After an introduction in the chapter about about the broader theme, Toler provides three case studies of women warriors that make her case. The cases are quite diverse both in historical eras, race, ethnicity, wealth, etc.

I enjoyed this book a lot. I liked that it is written in a academic style, providing analysis on the general themes, examining the women's actions in relation to traditional gender roles at the time (and sometimes how men get caught up in these fights because the person on the other side is "just a woman"), in addition to providing interesting biographies on many fascinating and not terribly famous woman. She also discusses why these women aren't well known, often noting that history is often written by men and it is often shameful to lose to a woman. Of course there are other cases, where the woman becomes historically celebrated or a national heroine (Boudica, Joan of Arc, Artemisia) used as a symbol in later fights (often for independence from a colonial power.)

One thing I really liked about this book is that Toler doesn't sugar coat the brutal actions some of the women take, from turning skulls into wine goblets or being willing to let the enemies kill their children (in one case, when the enemies threatened to kill her child if she didn't surrender, one woman pulled up her skirt and pointed and said she could always make more. Not quite the maternal snuggliness we expect from women.)

One minor annoyance I had was the number of footnotes. There are tons of them and they are long and I found it disruptive to the prose to constantly be looking at the bottom of the page and reading something else. Of course on the bright side, I don't normally read footnotes, but Toler's were very interesting and occasionally humorous (she has a dry wit) so I always checked out the notes but then would have to jump back and try to re-find my place. I go back and forth wishing they were end notes (which I definitely wouldn't read) to wishing maybe she just scaled back on the number. It's just a personal preference, I guess.

Overall, an interesting, well written, grown up book on women in combat/war. I gladly recommend it to anyone interested in learning more about women warriors (and not just simplified biographies to boost girls' self-esteem.)
  • Do you look at the military in the United States and think about how many women are within the ranks? The fighters who patrol the areas at war and that new Seal Team recruit.? Are women fighting a new thing in our armed forces a new thing? "Not so", says historian Pamela Toler. Toler, whose new book, "Women Warriors An Unexpected History", is a look at women through history who have fought for their countries, both under-cover and in the open. Women have actually fought in battles at the sides of their husbands and sons and in defense of their cities under siege.

Pamela Toler's book does not have to read all in one sitting. In fact, her individual chapters on women-in-history are best read on their own. She writes about women we all know about - Joan of Arc, for instance - and those lesser known women who fought in Asia and Africa. Her writing is lively, as befits someone with her own historical website can write to engage the reader. I also like the fact that the footnotes are in the text, as opposed to being at the end of the book.

Will "Women Warriors" appeal to the average reader? I think so; Toler seems to write "popular history" with a flair, making the history given an easy accessibility not often found in more scholarly works. And if you're looking for a good work of fiction about women at war, pick up Rita Mae Brown's delightful novel, "High Hearts" about a woman who disguises herself as a man to fight aside her husband in the Civil War.

Threading My Prayer Rug One Woman Journey from Pakistani Muslim to American Muslim eBook Sabeeha Rehman Reviews

  • I wish Sabeeha Rehman was my friend. She seems like such a wonderful, inspiring woman, who never takes no for an answer and never fails to challenge the status quo, either in the society or in her own understanding of the world. This will to change, to evolve, and cause ripples around her, are essential parts of a feminist icon, and I'm very happy to have learned of one who lives in New York and is like me a foreigner from a different culture. It was also priceless to put a face to a powerhouse of revisionist Islam. And I think what I admire most in the way Sabeeha sees the world is the way that she can always spot the gray areas, both in her own conduct, in her religion, or the world overall, and she calls them out for what they are. And when she doesn't, well, I'm pretty sure she will one day )
My only problem with the book was that Sabeeha doesn't ever acknowledge the class component of the Islamic society at large and in Pakistan in particular, which in my opinion is a huge deal. Sabeeha and most people in the narrative are people who come from privilege. While it still renders them foreigners and migrants in the American context, they are nonetheless more open to change, evolution and assimilation than those who have less means to pursue education or repatriation. But I was peeved when Sabeeha completely glossed over the existence of domestic help or poverty in her homeland. What is Islam in Pakistan through the eyes of the family's servants? How does Sabeeha's view of them change as she continues living in the US? And what happens when her parents die, do the servants go back to the slums, or do they have families? How does Islam play into this sort of existence? I mean, yes, ok, I understand that Sabeeha's memoir can not account for all sorts of experiences in Pakistan and/or Islam, and it's a memoir, not a critical theory piece. But the way she circles these things, creates holes in her narrative, and the picture of middle class Islam that Sabeeha herself represents, while idyllic and evolved, starts to seem purposefully crafted.
By no means am I implying that radicalization only happens within lower classes. No, it seems that the major players in terrorist organizations are usually people from privileged backgrounds, just like Sabeeha, but less kind and well meaning, empathic. But the cannon fodder is often the underprivileged, and we can't have an inclusive talk about the future of Islam in the world without talking about them.
That said, I also understand that this book is more about being a muslim woman in the pre- and post-9/11 East Coast, and Sabeeha is the finest example of courage and compassion in those unfortunate circumstances.
  • Humorous, funny but sweet and true Sabeeha tells her story as she traces her journey from a young bride to a mother, to an immigrant trying to make America home, to a community leader, a professional an activist, an interfaith leader and much more.
The book will resonate and enthral if you are
From Pakistan or the Indian subcontinent It will bring back sweet memories
An immigrant You will relive your experience
A woman You will remember the challenges
A Muslim You will relate to the various faces and shapes of Islam
An Interfaith advocate you will use it to promote your work
A feminist This is your story
A non Muslim This is an example of the American Muslim identity
A Parent in diaspora perhaps one of the roads to walk on as you raise children
A Young Pakistani American A story of the struggles of your parents
An immigrant Muslim family Your story as you built a Muslim community here in America
The Face of a Moderate American Muslim.

Take this incredible journey with her. Once started, you will not put it down till the journey is over and all the threads have been woven in her prayers rug.
  • Sabeeha Rehman’s book “Threading My Prayer Rug “ I received my copy and I was curious to know about her journey. As an immigrant we all have an experience of coming to America from somewhere on the globe with our culture and local traditions and then we all are somehow shaped up to become American. That’s the beauty of American culture that it absorbs you and molds you in such a way that you keep your cultural diversity with all American values of liberty justice and equality. It is struggle and it is test of your ability to deal and succeed in your professional life and cultural diversity. I am amazed how Ms Rehman was able to narrate her journey with such an eloquence that the stories have not lost a bit of its flavor. . We immigrants from similar back ground can really relate to it. Beauty of the book is that she was able to narrate her story in such a beautiful way to make it easy for readers to understand describing events in cleverly simple way with engaging and charming style of writing that a person who has no background of that culture can enjoy the story with benefits learning something new . She really was able to redesign and re-thread her rug in to red white and blue . It’s a delightful read of Journey of integration, assimilation of cultures faith and aspirations along with dreams to arrive at a destination called American and Sabeeha Rehman exactly knew how to connect with readers and keeps them engaged on this incredible journey
  • Rehman did a good job revealing her struggle to maintain her sense of self, family, culture, religion while acquiring an American way of life. She tells of support from the Jewish community and Muslims from countries other than Pakistan. Her intellectual seeking to understand Islam as a religion vs. a cultural interpretation is enlightening--she came to that as a parent wanting to guide her sons since her family in Pakistan had been more secular. All in all I gained a greater appreciation of Islam and its practice in America. I admired Rehman's intellectual and multi-cultural growth throughout her adulthood. I also think she had an amazing partner in her arranged marriage husband.
  • I bought this book because I loved the title but as I read it, I became disallusioned as I felt the author left her original intent to explain why the choice to build a mosque at the 9/11 site was misrepresented and went off on her personal issues which were not interesting to me.

An Oprah.com and Time.com Best of March Pick

"Sensational." (Tyler Oakley)
"Jacob Tobia is a force." (Good Morning America)
"A necessary voice." (Time)
"Honest, funny, and poignant." (Bustle)
"A valuable dispatch from a new generation of queer activists and artists." (Washington Post)

A heart-wrenching, eye-opening, and giggle-inducing memoir about what it's like to grow up not sure if you're (a) a boy, (b) a girl, (c) something in between, or (d) all of the above.

From the moment a doctor in Raleigh, North Carolina, put "male" on Jacob Tobia's birth certificate, everything went wrong. Alongside "male" came many other, far less neutral words words that carried expectations about who Jacob was and who Jacob should be, words like "masculine" and "aggressive" and "cargo shorts" and "SPORTS!"

Naturally sensitive, playful, creative, and glitter-obsessed, as a child Jacob was given the label "sissy." In the two decades that followed, "sissy" joined forces with "gay", "trans", "nonbinary", and "too-queer-to-function" to become a source of pride and, today, a rallying cry for a much-needed gender revolution. Through revisiting their childhood and calling out the stereotypes that each of us have faced, Jacob invites us to rethink what we know about gender and offers a bold blueprint for a healed world - one free from gender-based trauma and bursting with trans-inclusive feminism.

From Jacob's Methodist childhood and the hallowed halls of Duke University to the portrait-laden parlors of the White House, Sissy takes you on a gender odyssey you won't soon forget. Writing with the fierce honesty, wildly irreverent humor, and wrenching vulnerability that have made them a media sensation, Jacob shatters the long-held notion that people are easily sortable into "men" and "women." Sissy guarantees that you'll never think about gender - both other people's and your own - the same way again.

Named a Most Anticipated Book by HelloGiggles, PopSugar, SheReads, A.V. Club, Pride.com, The Daily Utah Chronicle, Read It Forward, Ms. magazine, and Eligible.

Sissy A ComingofGender Story Audible Audio Edition Jacob Tobia Penguin Audio Books Reviews

  • This is an enchanting, humorous, good-natured, and utterly captivating coming of age story with delicious surprises at every turn. While it certainly expands the trans canon and is a good companion read to Laura Jane Grace's "Tranny...", the true message here is for every human being on earth to just BE -- and free themselves from the strict societal pressures to conform to gender norms. For some men, folding in a trace of femininity might mean nothing more than being able to show emotions without being called the P-word or some other weaponized word to denote femininity equals weakness. For others, they might enjoy exploring their feminine sides in public with a dash or makeup or a dollop of color. When I came out as gender non binary long before there was a term for it besides cross dresser, transsexual, or pervert, almost ALL of the married women I talked to (conservative and liberals) admitted to me their manly husbands experiment with lingerie in the bedroom and femme (mocking, because as Jacob says, its safer) Halloween costumes. When Jacob appeared on The Daily Show I was brought to happy tears in an instant. Finally a media figure who just IS happy in their own skin and not transitioning from one gender absolute to another. Their interview, and this book, really helped me find happiness exactly where I am right now -- living authentically without hormones or surgery. Our sexual orientations are different. Jacob digs guys. I dig girls. And still (because they are totally separate identity markers) we share so many milestones on our respective gender quests. Sissy is a life saving, life affirming, life changing, totally entertaining read. As for the prose itself, Jacob is a gifted writer -- humorous asides and sharp wit at every turn, each paragraph a fully realized work of art -- and yet the whole story stays on a fast track and never derails. Such a thrilling read -- happy tears indeed. "Whiny"? as one other reviewer so eloquently declared -- heck no. "Witty" for sure. Perhaps that other review was an auto correct error.
  • Wow-!!! this autobiography is the perfect primer on all gender spectrums- told in conversational prose (that had me laughing out loud at times). It also reveals amazing truths. Loved every word. Definitely adding this to my college level Queer Literature classes. It’s a great read! (And to Adella’s One star review who thought the book was “whiney”, clearly you have a lot to learn about privilege... reread pages 279-283.)
  • I really want to give Jacob a big hug. All mothers of Gay and Trans children need to read this book. Although we will all be sad about the moments we may have failed our children, hopefully we will also remember the times that we were there for them.
Thank you, Jacob, for this heart-felt and honest memoir. I look forward to your next memoir, where you can tell us how the world has changed, and is accepting. And, that you have found your true love. You deserve that, sweet one, and I pray that they are right around the corner!!
  • Not usually a lover of memoirs, but thoroughly enjoyed this one. Very thought-provoking. Caused me to pause and question so many social constructs, including gender, in a way that other books about transgender haven't caused me to do before. Quick read. Funny.
  • The author was whiney. I wanted to learn, not be complained to. Others in my book club felt the same.
  • Hearing Jacob's story was a sacred experience. The story telling is phenomenal and easy to empathize with. Jacob is amazing in all the ways a person can be.
  • I couldn't put this book down. It portrays so perfectly the queer experience that Jacob had me in tears, but also bellowing with laughter. A must read for all the ages.
  • Jacob details out his life in such a brilliant and relatable way.
